Director of Community Development

Scott Dunakey works with the City Council, municipal staff, local citizens and business owners and managers to help direct Columbia's future growth. A balanced approach to growth will help assure economic vitality and a positive quality of life.
Scott's specific duties include:

  • Business retention, expansion and recruitment
  • Community information and promotion
  • Grant application and management
  • Main Street redevelopment

Community Relations and Tourism Coordinator

Sue Spargo is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and promoting special events, serving as staff liaison to community organizations, coordinating tourism activities on behalf of the City and providing administrative support to the Director of Community Development on special projects.
