Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Committee

The Federal Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.) requires the creation of and appointment of members to a grievance committee for the purpose of hearing appeals rendered by the ADA Coordinator. Said members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. For a full description of responsibilities, see Municipal Code Sections 2.64.010 and 2.64.040 upon which the Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Committee was established.
