Welcome to the Community & Economic Development Department!

This department is responsible for creating a "development ready" atmosphere in the City of Columbia that will assure its standing as the principal urban center in Monroe County.  To that end, this department will strive to maintain the highest integrity, professional qualifications, and visibility in order to establish Columbia as a leader in the St. Louis region.  This department will not encourage growth at any cost, but will manage desirable growth with efficiency, strategic vision, and integrity in order to provide the best options to the City Council and the best community for the residents of Columbia.

Jackie handles the day-to-day administrative duties for the Community & Economic Development Department as well as coordinating community special events.    She is also responsible for processing subdivision review/approval, zoning, variance, and special use requests and arranges for public hearings with the appropriate boards and committees when needed.
