  1. National Library Week

    April 13 - April 18 @ Columbia Public Library

    Join us for a week of activities and give-aways. Food for fines will be taken this week.

  2. City Wide Yard Sale

    April 17 - April 18 @ Approximately100 households throughout the City of Columbia, IL

    - Approximately 100 households will participate in city wide yard sale.Yard sale permits are not required for sales on April 17th & 18th. - A “Yard Sale Directory” (listing addresses, items for sale and a map) will be available on the city’s website www.columbiaillinois.com and at the Clerk’s Office (8am-4:30pm) on April 14th - 17th. If you would like to be included on this directory, please submit the Yard Sale form located on the website calendar). All forms must be submitted by Friday, April 3rd. - Any unwanted items remaining from your yard sale may be donated to Nice Twice. Please bring items to the recycling event BEFORE 1:30 p.m.

  3. Columbia Soccer Club - Spring Soccer Sign-Up

    April 18, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Columbia Soccer Club Fields

    Registration is open to players in Kindergarten - 4th Grade. This program will be run by CSC & AC Columbia coaches and trainers. All players will receive a participation medal at the conclusion of the program. Each session will consist of 60 minutes of skills training followed by 30 minutes of small-sided games. You may register and pay online.

  5. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Event

    April 18, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Columbia High School Parking Lot

    Accepting gently used clothing, shoes, furniture, toys and other household items. Accepting gently used books—no encyclopedias or textbooks, please. Accepting Electronics & Appliances: Computer equipment, TVs, phones, household electronics, audio/video equipment, lawn mowers, batteries and more—donations are suggested for computer monitors, laptops and televisions, large appliances and all Freon-containing devices. Two trash trucks will be on site—one truck for non-recyclable items not larger than a recliner (for city residents only—ID may be requested) Shredding paper documents while you wait (5 boxes maximum).

  6. Bootleggers Ball

    April 18, 7:00 PM - April 19, 12:00 AM @ Gallagher's Restaurant

    Thank you for your support of the Monroe County History Museum. Live music by Scrambled and Sarah Jane & The Blue Notes, live auction, entertainment and games of chance/prizes. Champage toast and a chance to win a gorgeous freshwater pearl sterling diamon necklace. Dress as a flapper, in our dapper tux, as a silent movie star, as a figure from the 20's or come as you are! Elegant Hors d'oeuvres served Butler Style all evening.

    April 25, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Monroe County YMCA - HTC Center

    All families and youth in the community are invited. Healthy Kids Day is the Y's national initiative to improve the health and well-being of families across the country. A special day of fun activities meant to help build on the incredible potential inside each and every child.
