Monroe County State's Attorney Chris Hitzemann will be the featured speaker. Music by the Belleville Community Band. The program includes remarks and presentations by Mayor Kevin Hutchinson, Post Chaplain David Janson, Auxiliary President Janet Janson and Post Commander Greg Smith. A Missing Man Salute will be given by Sergeant at Arms Ray Bense, Senior Vice-Commander Jim Vogt will present the call of the post honor roll while Jane Janson will present the call of the auxiliary honor roll. The post honor guard with Jim Schroeder will conduct the folding of the flag ceremony. The honor guard will post and retire the colors. A wreath will be laid following the indoor program at the Doughboy Monument by Commander Smith, Chaplain Janson, Auxiliary President Janson and Mayor Hutchinson. They will be joined by the honor guard firing squad. Refreshments will be served by the auxiliary following the ceremony.

Children of all ages in Columbia can get a free lunch during the summer provided by TWIGS, a charitable non-profit organization, and distributed by Bethany United Methodist Church. Lunches are distributed Monday thru Friday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The TWIGS organization has been providing free summer lunches throughout the Metro-East since 2011. Veterans Administration representatives will be on hand to discuss VA benefits and entitlements with those attending. Those scheduled to be present are from the VA St. Louis Health Care System, St. Louis VA Regional Office and Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. They will explain eligibility requirements and procedures for applying for benefits and entitlements. Veterans and veteran spouses who may be potentially eligible for VA benefits are encouraged to attend. Those attending are encouraged to bring along their military discharge documents such as DD Form 214.

In order to gain public input for the proposed Quarry Road and Palmer Creek Drive/Father Carl Scherrer Drive Intersection Improvements the City of Columbia will be holding a public information meeting.
The proceeding of the meeting will be informal and individuals will have the opportunity to ask questions about the project. City staff and representatives from the City’s consulting engineers and ICS engineers will be present to answer questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. Preliminary drawings and effects on properties will be available for inspection at the meeting.
