Bolm-Schuhkraft Park Playground Pavilion

(1) Sealed proposals will be received in the office of the Clerk’s Office, 208 S. Rapp Ave. Columbia, IL 62236 until 10:00 A.M., February 13, 2018 for furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required in the installation and construction of the Bolm-Schuhkraft Park – Playground Pavilion, City of Columbia, Monroe County and at that time publicly opened and read.

(2) Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the City of Columbia which may be obtained at the office of the City Clerk, 208 S. Rapp Ave., Columbia, IL and shall be enclosed in an envelope endorsed "Bolm-Schuhkraft Park – Playground Pavilion".

(3) The right is reserved to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.

(4) Proposal Guarantee. A proposal guarantee in the form of a certified or bank cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% of total bid price will be required.

(5) Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bond. The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds, each in an amount at least equal to the contract price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all contractors’ obligations under the contract.

(6) Certificate of Insurance. The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to furnish a valid and in force certificate of insurance naming the City of Columbia, Illinois as additionally insured in the amounts of coverage noted in the specifications.

(7) Prevailing Wage.  The current prevailing rate of wages shall apply for this project as outlined in the specifications.  



Water Main Replacement on Main Street from Whiteside Street to Jefferson Street

Separate sealed bids will be received by the City of Columbia (OWNER) located at 208 S. Rapp Avenue, Columbia, Illinois, 62236 until 10:00 A.M.. local prevailing time,  February 13, 2018  at which time and place said bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.

Conditional or qualified bids will not be accepted.

Give special attention to and comply with project insurance and bonding requirements.

Copies of the contract and bidding documents for purpose of bidding may be obtained at the office of Curry & Associates Engineers, Inc. P.O. Box 246, 243 E. Elm, Nashville, IL 62263, (ph. 618-327-8841), upon non-refundable payment of $100 for each set.

Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of at least five percent of the amount bid, drawn payable to the City of Columbia as security for the proper execution of the contract.

Bids from partnerships or joint ventures will not be acceptable.

The OWNER reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bids should it consider same to be in the best interest of the OWNER. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after date of receiving and opening bids.

The Illinois Dept. of Labor prevailing wages shall apply to the project, and hiring preference shall be given to the Illinois citizens.

Admiral Trost Park Wetland Development Project

(1) Sealed proposals will be received in the offices of the City of Columbia, Illinois, 208 S. Rapp Ave., Columbia, IL until 10:00 o'clock A.M., Thursday, February 8, 2018 for furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required in the Admiral Trost Park Wetland Development Project, for the City of Columbia, Illinois.  After the time the sealed proposals are due they shall be publicly opened and read.

(2) Project Description: Project consists of asphalt trail, pedestrian bridges, earth work, natural stone walls/grade control, landscape planting and other work required for the development of a wetland and flood control within the park.

(4) A prebid conference for all bidders will be held at Admiral Trost Park on January 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm, local time. Prospective bidders are requested to attend.

(6) Proposal Guarantee. A proposal guarantee in the form of a certified or bank cashier’s check or a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of total bid price will be required.

The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds, or an irrevocable letter of credit issued by a bank or trust company, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all Contractor’s obligations under the Contract.

(8) Certificate of Insurance.  The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to furnish a certificate of insurance naming the City of Columbia, Illinois as additionally insured in the amount of coverages specified in the contract documents.
