POLICE OFFICER ELIGIBILITY LIST : The City of Columbia is currently seeking applicants for a Police Officer Eligibility List.  Applicants must be 21-35 years of age (some exceptions per state law) with a minimum of 64 hours of college credit.  Residency is required within six months of hire, however you may apply for a six-month extension for a total of one year.  Applications can be obtained in person at Columbia Police Department, 1020 North Main Street, Columbia IL 62236 starting March 30th.  Applications must be received by May 1, 2018 at noon.  The City of Columbia application that is offered on this page is NOT the necessary application packet for the Board of Police Commissioners - please do not submit that form or your application will be considered incomplete.  The physical agility and written examination will take place on May 12, 2018.   Click here
