Main Street Facade Program

This program provides matching funds to encourage Main Street property owners to enhance their buildings' "curb appeal" with improvements such as awnings, shutters, plaques, window boxes, step/sidewalk work, landscaping, planters and benches.

Improvements must be reviewed and recommended by the Civic Progress Committee, and must be completed in a timely manner. The City will match improvements dollar-for-dollar up to $3,000 as funds are available through this program.

Eligibility requirements include the following:
  • The building must be located on Main St. or within one block of Main St.;
  • Only the building's owner may apply;
  • The building must house a business in its ground floor at the time of request;
  • Projects undertaken prior to approval by the City are ineligible;
  • Improvements must adhere to the Columbia Municipal Code.

Please refer to the complete Guidelines (link noted below) and review them carefully to determine whether or not a project meets the City's criteria.
